Amidst the sheer bustle of this Haitian-American neighborhood lies a beautiful fabric of welcoming culture, tasteful food, musical ecstasy, and dance. Besides the sparkling jewels on its bustling NE 2nd Ave strip stands the KOTR Dance Studio, home to people who want to experience the pulses of Konpa and the warmth of Ti Ayiti. Besides amazing dance moves, we joined the commitment to keep the streets clean and welcoming.

Embracing Community Spirit

At KOTR Dance Studio, we realize the significance of foot traffic in promoting our business to the community and the general public. Consequently, we are joining Downtown Little as they lead in removing garbage from streets along the NE 2nd Ave Business District. once a month, our staff, supporters, and team dancers can be found walking the streets in companionship with local business owners and residents equipped with brooms, bags, and a shared goal of keeping our Little Haiti nice and clean.

The Importance of a Clean Environment

Additionally to the aesthetic beauty, a clean street shows the community’s commitment to the greater good of a welcoming environment. Besides broadening the satisfaction levels of the visitors, to a certain extent, this also creates a feeling of honor among residents. By taking ownership of our surroundings, we send a powerful message to residents and tourists alike: In Little Haiti, community means everyone, and no one is left aside to improve that place.

Strengthening Community Bonds

Beyond mere cleanliness, the feeling of people coming together for one cause strengthens the friendship between neighbors, thereby making our community even more beautiful. While sweeping the sidewalks and picking up debris, we establish meaningful connections. People come together sharing tales and enjoying each other’s company. However, the prosperity of this cultural precinct depends not only on the services provided by its residents and owners but also on the agreement of those residents and businesses to keep their surrounding environment clean and beautiful. Using our collective street clean-up drives, we hold the magic of Little Haiti and model unity as a community.
